Kabutungan Falls; Ginatilan, Cebu

Taken from the upper part of the cliff where you can also jump.
Kabutungan Falls

"Exploring the creations of mother nature always makes me feel how lucky I am to be alive"

Kabutungan falls is a jewel hidden in the deep boundaries of Malabuyoc and Ginatilan, Cebu thus getting there was not an easy task, somewhat I can say it is like an upstream canyoning.

We trek for about 10 - 20 mins. from the high-way road of Malabuyoc to the starting point of our upstream canyoning.
On our way to the starting point.
On our way there I have seen this little buddy who is tied to a tree and I think his name is "boots"
"Boots"
Our friend (ate fritz) also said that there were monkeys that are seen lurking around this forest and one of it is said to be white or albino that throw stones at people who are wandering here. Then after the trek we reach this small place with cottages and room at the back part of this place is where you start your upstream canyoning.
The entrance of the starting point.
Starting Point of Canyoning.
The image above is the starting point of the canyoning, you either jump to the water or climb beside the trees to get to the upper part. On our way there are cliffs that you can climb and jump. After 15 - 20 mins. of canyoning we have reach the part where you can slide with the water.
Small water slide.
Then we have reach the precious jewel of mother nature. "Kabutungan falls" and my favorite part of this falls is hidden behind its curtain of falling waters there lies a cave that can get you to the upper part where the other two falls are hidden (Tisong & Campisong Falls) unfortunately I've only get to the entrance of the cave and get back immediately because of the strong current that my friends couldn't swim and we don't have gears like life vest, ropes, helmets and a flashlight maybe next time if given a chance to go back there I'll make sure I'm prepared.
Shallow part of Kabutungan Falls!!

It was indeed a superb experience!! I've traveled 147 kilometers with my motorcycle from Mandaue City to Ginatilan for my stopover  and go back to Malabuyoc where the trail is found. On our way to the falls the only thing I brought was my camera.

How to get there?
1.) Go to South bus terminal located at N. Bacalso Ave. Cebu City
2.) Then take a bus going to Bato via Barili
3.) Tell the bus driver to drop you off at Brgy. San Roque, Ginatilan
4.) Find a local or habal-habal driver then ask on how to get to kabutungan Falls.
5.) Enjoy and have fun finding the trail!!..

Greetings: From Osmeña Peak!

Hello Everyone!!

Starting my first blog to share my wanderlust around the province of Cebu, Philippines since this is my hometown  "Appreciate our own before we compare it to others"
Osmeña Peak
Mantalungon, Dalaguete where Osmeña peak lies with the altitude of 1,000+ meters above sea level also known as little Baguio of Cebu due to its high altitude the temperature will give you chill.

How to get there?
This is how I get there!
  1. Go to south bus terminal located at N. Bacalso Ave. Cebu city then get a trip to dalaguete.
  2. Tell the bus driver to drop you at "Mantalungon Crossing" where motorcycles or "Habal-habal" waits.
  3. Take a "Habal-habal" ride then tell the driver to take you to Osmeña peak. (It takes 10 - 15 minute joyride) enjoy the beauty of nature!
  4. Your way to Osmeña Peak
  5. After your joyride, hike for 5 - 10 minutes in order to reach the peak. a piece of towel and a bottle of water will be helpful.
It was late afternoon that we reached the peak and witness a spectacular scene "SUNSET"

Afterwards we decided to set-up our tent near the peak because we decided to stay there for a night to rest. Staying there for one night is a wonderful experience starry-starry nights, blowing winds that cause our tent to shake like someones doing it to scare us, fog at dawn that lets your visibility goes down by 50% and the morning dew that makes the grass wet even though it didn't rain that night. Its one of a heck experience!!!zehahahaha
